LamboGo is a rugged, high-speed, wireless portable SSD storage device with up to 8TB capacity. It is capable of high transfer speed at 2400 MB/s via Thunderbolt connectors, and also 900 MB/s via Wi-Fi connection.
The project is currently ongoing at Indiegogo (links at the bottom), and it has already obtained 100% funding from backers on the first day.
According to our USB-C data transfer chart, the speed of 2,400 MB/s is equivalent to USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 (20 Gbps). The speed is very fast and can transfer up to 48GB in just 20 seconds. There is a speed test video posted on the Indiegogo campaign website that demonstrates this high-speed transfer.
This small but high-capacity SSD is packed with so many advantages that it sounds too good to be true. So we begin to ask ourselves, is this the ultimate portable SSD that the whole world is waiting for? Or are we missing something in our review?

|Hi-Speed Wireless Transfer (900MB/s)||Unsure of the brand of SSD used.|
|Long 8 hours battery life (5000 mAh) battery||Uncertain about reliability|
|The built-in battery can be used as a charger for mobile devices.|

- No Bluetooth: We have listed the missing Bluetooth connectivity as a “bad” point for the sake of completeness. It is unlikely to affect anyone’s decision since the SSD has fast wireless and USB-C connectivity.
- No IP Rating: The device needs to obtain an official IP rating to certify that its “ruggedness” and effectiveness of the seal. The term “water-resistant” is very misleading, and pouring some sand at the beaches over the casing is not a proper sand and dust test.
- No Wireless Charging: It would be cool to have wireless charging like the Samsung charger.
- Warranty and Brand Info: The warranty period should be clearly stated for all electronic devices, even if it is just one year. However, we do expect the warranty period of the SSD inside to be even longer. Samsung offers 3 years warranty for all their SSD, while some other brands offer up to 5 years.
The design of the Lambogo is very impressive. The designers managed to pack so many features into a small ruggedized, pocket-sized SSD storage casing while keeping the weight down.
Including a 5000mAH battery, it is still lighter than some of the high-end smartphones such as the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and Samsung S21 Ultra.
On the other hand, the team should clearly state the warranty information, and provide the brand of the components, especially for the SSD.
We have compiled the specifications of the Lambogo in the table below. For those who are interested to buy Lambogo, please visit Indiegogo.
