Common Upgrades From Elite 85t[tie_index]Common Upgrades From Elite 85t[/tie_index]
The following are the noticeable upgrades when compared to the current flagship model Jabra Elite 85t:
- One of the most important major upgrades for all the new models is the “Mono” mode, which allows either earbud to be used independently. This means you can pick up any, left or right earbuds, from the charging case, they work fine. This has been the biggest disadvantage of Jabra earbuds as compared to most other brands in the market for quite some time. Finally, Jabra made it.
- The IP Ratings are now upgraded to at least an IP55 from IPX4. Previously all IPX4 means they are untested against dust and protected against water spray. Now Jabra Elite 3 and Elite 7 Active are both tested against limited dust ingress and protected against low-pressure water jets and immersion respectively. (see below)
IPXY First Digit – SOLIDS Second Digit – LIQUIDS IPX4 Untested against solids Protected from water spray from any direction. IP55 Dust protected. Dust must not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the equipment. Protected from low-pressure water jets from any direction. IP57 Dust protected. Dust must not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the equipment. Protected from water for 30mins.
Depending on the size of a test sample, the highest point must be >150mm below the water surface, or the lowest point must be >1m. - All the audio drivers are changed to 6mm, which is the same as the drivers on Sony WF-1000XM4. Previously we read that bigger drivers are better, but this may not be the case. There is a trend moving towards 6mm speaker drivers which can deliver a rich and powerful music experience.

Deep, powerful bass. Well-balanced mid-ranges. Nuanced treble.
- While the earbuds are getting better in terms of specifications, their weight and size are getting smaller, which is an advantage. The Elite 7 Pro is 16% smaller than the current flagship, Elite 85t.
- Bluetooth is upgraded from 5.1 to 5.2. So if you try to Google this, there are dozens of websites trying to explain what are the differences using a 3-page long essay. For consumers, the advantages are:
- Reduce latency.
- Lower power and bandwidth to transfer a large amount of information (in short, it’s more power-efficient).
- Elite 7 Pro appears to be using the physical button, while Elite 7 Active should be touch control due to the lack of a physical button as shown below.
- Elite 7 Pro has a Bone Conduction Sensor which enables clearer voice transmission and helps to reduce wind noise. So far, the Bone Conduction Sensor is only available in high-end models such as Sony WF-1000XM4 and the upcoming Logitech Zone True Wireless Earbuds.
Then there are specific upgrades for the Elite 7 models such as Bone Conduction Sensor for clear voice
transmission, and an even longer battery life of 9h (35h with charging case) with ANC on. We will cover these in detail once the specifications are fully released.

Jabra Elite 3 Earbud Review Summary[tie_index]Jabra Elite 3 Earbud Review Summary[/tie_index]
The Jabra Elite 3 Earbud has improved specifications as mentioned in the previous section. However, it is considered a mid-range earbud in the new lineup as it does not have quite a number of “high-end” features:
- No ANC, but there is PNC (Passive Noise Cancellation) in the form of a better physical “seal”. This is also the reason why Jabra earbuds do not come with any ear wings but only provide ear gels.
- Only have the basic ear sensor to detect when the earbuds are attached to the ear.
- The charging case does not have wireless charging.
- There is no wind noise reduction and pressure relief vent.
Even so, the Jabra Elite 3 earbuds are superior as compared to many of the existing earbuds in the stores.
