Compare JBL Club Pro Plus and Jabra Elite 7 Pro

This review compares the JBL Club Pro Plus to the Jabra Elite 7 Pro based on the available design information available at this time. The JBL Club Pro+ was released about a year earlier and it would be interesting to see how it fairs against the new Jabra Elite 7 Pro to be released in October 2021.

The weight of the Jabra Elite 75t is about 21% lighter than the JBL Club Pro+. We do not foresee issues with the weight difference by 1 or 2 grams, especially since they are not sports-specific models. However, it helps to confirm that the Elite 7 Pro will be smaller than the JBL Club which is quite big in size.

Some users prefer earbuds to flush with the ear lobes and dislike any part that is protruding out. As such, a smaller size should be a key consideration of an earbud design.

It is obvious that the Jabra Elite 7 Pro has a smaller profile that hides inside the ear lobe, whereas the JBL Club Pro Plus looks like a ball sticking out of the ear.

One thing we noticed about the JBL Club Pro Plus is the size of the charging contacts below the earbuds.

JBL Club Pro Plus Earbud Connectors

The electrical contacts of the JBL Club Pro Plus look quite small from the photos, which reminds us of the Klipsch earbuds which have very poor contact.

In the case of Klipsch T5 II Sports earbuds, they do not charge properly because the contacts are not aligned inside the charging case. Jabra’s earbuds do not have such issues as their contact points are huge.

As shown in the photo below, Jabra Elite 75t Active (right) has a much larger contact point and a better design than the Klipsch T5 II Sports Wireless (left) which has a very small contact.

Control TypeButtonTouch

Jabra Elite 7 Pro uses physical buttons like earlier versions (65t, 75t, and 85t), whereas JBL Club Pro Plus uses touch control. The choice depends on the individual, but touch control could be better for certain sports.

The Jabra Elite 7 Pro will have IP57 rating, while the JBL Club Pro+ only has IPX4 water splash resistant.

IP57Dust protected. Dust must not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the equipment. Protected from water for 30mins.
Depending on the size of the test sample, the highest point must be >150mm below the water surface, or the lowest point must be >1m.

Based on the above comparison, there are several points to highlight.

Firstly, Jabra 7 Pro has 4 mics in total (2 mics per earbud), comprising two ANC mics and 2 mics for the voice.

For the JBL Club Pro Plus, the specification state that they use a 3-mic beamforming technology which “helps to eliminate” background noises. It also has the same mono mode where either earbud can be used independently like the Jabra Elite 7 Pro. This could mean that the “3-mic” exist on both earbuds, and so there is a total of 6 mics.

Bone Conduction Sensor (VPU)YesYes

There is no significant difference as far as connectivity is concerned, but Jabra Elite 7 Pro has a bone conduction sensor for better voice clarity. This works by transmitting the voice that you speak via vibration of the jawbone, which naturally eliminates all external sound. So far, only the high-end earbuds have this technology, such as the Sony WF-1000XM4.
