JBL has launched the new JBL Live PRO+ TWS Earbuds limited edition in fashionable colors comprising metallic blue, chrome, and rose gold. The new colors and metallic finishing apply to both the earbuds’ external casing and the charging case, giving them a premium look over the original, matte plastic colors.
The press release stated “mirror-finish” is for the earbuds, while the charging case is satin and not mirror-finished.
JBL Live Pro Plus TWS Limited Edition Earbuds Colours in Mirror Finish
The good news is that the new premium-looking and trendy metallic colors are priced the same as the original matte plastic colors. But the bad news is that they are limited editions, so there is no guarantee if the stocks will last until Christmas.
The original JBL Live PRO+ TWS earbuds were launched just 3 months ago in July 2021 with the colors black, white, beige, and pink in matte plastic finishing.
Our favourite colour is Rose Gold.

Good price versus features |
The JBL Live Pro+ TWS earbuds have very good, high-end specifications for the price of $129.95 at this time as compared to other alternatives at around the same range. We feel that it is worth the money based on adaptive hybrid ANC with 4 dedicated ANC mic, and wireless charging, which are mainly found on flagship models.
On biggest disadvantage is that the JBL Live Pro+ TWS earbuds do not have any default gesture assigned to the volume control on the earbuds.
However, it is easy to solve this problem as explained below.
How to control the volume on earbuds without a default volume control?[tie_index]How to control the volume on earbuds without a default volume control?[/tie_index]
1) Voice commands: Smartphone users can use Google Assist or Alexa voice assistant on the JBL or Siri on the Apple Airpods to control the volume. For example, users can say, “Alexa, volume up”.
2) Customise gesture control: Alternatively, users can customize and change one of the existing gestures to use the volume control. This requires sacrificing one of the existing functions, which, based on JBL’s earbuds design, should be the “hold 2 seconds” gesture. This is the most common control method to control volume, including top brands like Klipsch and Jabra.
Ofcourse, you are free to select other gestures, such as tap and double-tap for volume control.
3) Source device volume control: If the source device is not a smartphone, then the user can adjust the volume on the source device directly. This could be rather inconvenient for most people who would rather use method one or two.
Another major disadvantage for most JBL products is the 1-year warranty which we feel is not enough compared to Jabra, which offers a 2-year warranty.
The JBL Live Pro+ is not designed primarily for sports, even though it has the basic IPX4 rating for water-splash and is sweatproof. As such, we did not list the lack of waterproofing and earwings as disadvantages. For those who are interested in JBL’s sports earbuds, the JBL Reflect Flow Pro is one of the best in the market.
