It is likely that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is replacing the Samsung Galaxy Note in future, after reviewing the information from several sources.
We browsed through hundreds of pages to sieve through the information to separate leaks from speculations. Furthermore, we have decided to track these sources and provided all the links below for future reference. Please be aware when that the information is not official from Samsung, and there are speculations mixed up with leaks.
There are two main takeaways for us here as we are more interested in design specifications that may affect our buying decision.
- Good news: Galaxy S22 Ultra 6.8″ may be getting a storage area for the stylus This is the reason why we concluded that the S22 Ultra is the new Galaxy Note replacement.
- Bad news: Galaxy S22 Standard 6.1″ may be getting a smaller battery at 3,700 mAh. This is bad news for those who are familiar with the poor battery life on the Galaxy Note 10 which has only 3,500 mAh. Let’s hope the overall power consumption is reduced for the S22.
We are looking forward to maybe buy the Galaxy S22 Ultra – the new Note.

Galaxy S22 Standard Version

Galaxy S22 Plus Version

Galaxy S22 Ultra Version
- The screen will be the same size as Galaxy S21 Ultra. (The Elec)
- The Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to be able to house the S Pen stylus, which is unlike Galaxy S21 Ultra which does not have a stylus housing(The Elec). This could also mean that Galaxy S22 Ultra may have a smaller battery than Galaxy S21 Ultra.
- Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a 108MP wide camera and 12MP ultra-wide camera, both cameras with optical image stabilization (OIS). It will have a quad camera on its back. There will be no 3D time of flight module. The model’s front camera will be 40MP like the Galaxy S21 Ultra. (The Elec)

Galaxy Ultra is the New Galaxy Note
Will there be any Galaxy Note in 2022? The answer is yes there will be a Galaxy Note but no, it does not carry that name. This is because the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will have built-in storage for the stylus, which makes it the new Galaxy Note.
It also makes sense to have stylus housing only for the Ultra model as it has a bigger space for battery. If stylus storage is added to the smaller Galaxy S22, it will reduce the battery capacity and result in lower battery life.
